History
2020 was an unusual year for France because the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament was postponed to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. France therefore spent 2020 primarily playing UEFA Nations League and friendly matches under Didier Deschamps.
France won Nations League Group A3, finishing ahead of Portugal, Croatia and Sweden. The team remained the reigning 2018 FIFA World Cup champions, and the 2020 squad contained the core of the side that would go on to compete at the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.

At the delayed Euro 2020 tournament in 2021, Benzema scored four goals, while Pogba and Griezmann also scored; France ultimately lost to Switzerland on penalties in the round of 16.
