Matchday Vault is a one-man collection turned into a shop. Everything on the site has been chosen, checked and photographed by the person who owns it. This page explains how that actually works.
Why we only sell originals
The vintage football shirt market is full of reproductions, retros and outright fakes. Some are obvious. Many are not. We built Matchday Vault so that a collector never has to gamble.
Every shirt we list has been held, turned inside out, and checked against period-correct examples — construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code. Where possible we compare against an original of the same season and manufacturer; we do not always have one to hand, and we say so. If a shirt does not pass, it does not go in the Vault.
Why we only sell online
There is no shop floor and there is no middleman. Selling online is what makes it possible to photograph every shirt properly, write up its full history, and put the condition in writing before anyone commits to anything — rather than holding a shirt up under a market stall light and hoping for the best.
It also means the collection can reach the people who actually want it. A ninth-tier German club shirt or a Catalan promotion season shirt will find its collector somewhere in the world. It would never find one in a single town.
One shirt at a time
We hold one of each shirt. When it is bought, that listing ends. There is no restock, because there is nothing to restock.
That is why every shirt is photographed and documented in detail before it goes up: a condition grade out of ten, full flat measurements, the manufacturer product code, and any fault written into the description rather than hidden in the photographs. The shirt in the photograph is the shirt you receive.

We are based in Spain and ship worldwide, tracked, at our expense.
