History
2018 was a difficult transitional year for the Italy national team. The major event was the failure to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Italy had finished second in their qualifying group behind Spain and then faced Sweden in the play-offs. Sweden won the tie 1–0 on aggregate, meaning Italy missed the World Cup for the first time since 1958.
After the play-off defeat, Gian Piero Ventura left his position as head coach. Roberto Mancini was appointed in May 2018 and began rebuilding the national team with a mixture of experienced players and younger talent.
Italy's first competitive period under Mancini came in the 2018–19 UEFA Nations League, where they were drawn with Portugal and Poland.

2018 home shirt
The Puma Italy 2018 home shirt was officially released in October 2017 and was intended for the 2018 World Cup campaign. Because Italy failed to qualify, however, it was not worn at the 2018 World Cup.

The shirt was particularly notable because it introduced the new FIGC crest, which replaced the previous design used since 2006.

Only shirts that pass are photographed, graded and added to the Vault. If a shirt is not an authentic original, we do not sell it.
Condition and sizing
These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear. Each listing carries a condition grade out of ten and any notable fault is called out in the description. Sizing on older shirts differs from modern sizing — always go by the pit-to-pit and length measurements listed, not the size on the label.
