History
Barcelona’s 2015/16 season, under Luis Enrique, came right after their historic 2014/15 treble — so expectations were sky-high for a repeat.
How it went:
La Liga: Won the title (Barça’s 24th), edging out Real Madrid in a tight race that came down to the final matchday. They clinched it beating Granada 3-0 while Real Madrid also won away at Deportivo. Luis Suárez was electric, capping the season with a hat-trick to finish with 40 league goals and the Pichichi/Golden Boot.
Copa del Rey: Won it, beating newly crowned Europa League winners Sevilla in the final after extra time — completing the domestic double.
UEFA Super Cup & FIFA Club World Cup: Won both, carried over from the 2014/15 treble, giving Barça five trophies for the year overall.
The front three of Messi, Suárez, and Neymar (“MSN”) was in full flow, combining for well over 100 goals across competitions.
At Camp Nou specifically, Barça scored 104 goals in 29 home matches, their second-best home tally ever behind Guardiola’s 2011/12 side, and went unbeaten at home for 39 games.
