History
The England 2013 home shirt is a particularly significant one because it marked the beginning of Nike's England era, replacing Umbro. It was worn during the campaign that saw England qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. It is associated with the FA's 150th anniversary celebrations
The 2013 England team
England were managed by Roy Hodgson, who had taken over in 2012. The 2013 calendar year was essentially about getting through World Cup qualifying and building a squad for Brazil.
England played 12 matches in 2013, winning 6, drawing 4 and losing 2. Most importantly, they finished top of World Cup qualifying Group H, unbeaten in their six qualifiers that year.
Their qualifying record across the whole campaign was:

Wayne Rooney
Probably the most important attacking player associated with the shirt.
Rooney scored 6 goals in 10 internationals during 2013, including the crucial opening goal against Poland that helped send England to Brazil.

Steven Gerrard
Captain and midfield leader.
Gerrard captained England eight times during 2013 and scored the decisive second goal against Poland that confirmed World Cup qualification.

Frank Lampard
