History
2008 was a landmark year for the Spanish national team. Under Luis Aragonés, Spain won UEFA Euro 2008, ending a 44-year wait for a major international trophy. They defeated Germany 1–0 in the final in Vienna, with Fernando Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 33rd minute.
The tournament also marked the emergence of the possession-based style that became associated with Spain's subsequent golden generation. UEFA's technical panel named Xavi Hernández Player of the Tournament.

The shirt is the adidas Spain 2008–10 home shirt, associated particularly strongly with the Euro 2008 victory. It is predominantly red, with gold adidas three-stripes, gold piping around the torso and the Spanish federation crest on the chest. It uses the Adidas' Trofeo template.
