History
CA Osasuna had a difficult but ultimately successful survival season in La Liga in 2012/13, their 92nd season. José Luis Mendilibar remained in charge throughout the campaign.
It was very much a survival season ratherthan a European-chasing one. Osasuna struggled for goals—their 33 league goals were among the lower totals in La Liga—but their home form helped them stay up.
Key players
Andrés Fernández — goalkeeper Probably the standout player of the season. He started all 37 league matches he played, making 3,330 minutes. UEFA selected him as the goalkeeper in its La Liga 2012/13 RevelationXI, highlighting his excellent campaign.
Kike Sola — striker Osasuna's leading league scorer with 9 goals. He was an important focal point in an attack that otherwise struggled to score consistently.
Emiliano Armenteros — attackingmidfielder One of the team's most important creative players. He made 30 league starts and scored 3 goals, while contributing heavily to Osasuna's attacking play.
Alejandro Arribas — centre-back A defensive cornerstone, appearing in 34 league matches, with 32 starts.
