History
The 2019/20 season was a hugely important one for Real Madrid. Under Zinedine Zidane, Madrid rebuilt their defensive solidity and ended the season as La Liga champions, winning their 34th league title. They also won the Spanish Super Cup.
The season was interrupted for more than three months by the COVID-19 pandemic. When football returned in June 2020, Madrid were outstanding, winning 10 consecutive league matches to overtake Barcelona and secure the championship.
Key Players
Karim Benzema — Striker
The star of the season.
Benzema had arguably his finest season to that point, becoming Madrid's primary attacking force following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.
Thibaut Courtois — Goalkeeper
Courtois became one of the foundations of the championship-winning side.
He played 34 La Liga matches, conceding only 20 goals, and kept 18 clean sheets.
He won the Zamora Trophy as La Liga's best goalkeeper, finishing with a remarkable 0.59 goals-conceded-per-game coefficient.
Sergio Ramos — Centre-back & Captain
Ramos was absolutely central to Zidane's team.
He provided leadership at the back while also becoming an increasingly important goalscorer, particularly from penalties and set pieces.
His partnership with Raphaël Varane was a major reason Madrid had the best defensive record in the league.
Casemiro — Defensive midfielder
Casemiro was arguably the tactical heart of the team.
His ability to protect the defence allowed Kroos and Modrić greater freedom to control games.
Luka Modrić — Midfielder
The Ballon d'Or winner remained an important creative presence despite being in his mid-30s.
Toni Kroos — Midfielder
Kroos continued to dictate Madrid's possession game.
His passing, set pieces and ability to control the rhythm of matches were crucial to Zidane's system.
Federico Valverde — Midfielder
One of the breakout stars.
Valverde's athleticism gave Zidane something different from the established midfield trio of Casemiro, Kroos and Modrić.
He became increasingly important throughout the season and was named Man of the Match in the Spanish Super Cup final against Atlético.
Marcelo — Left-back
Marcelo was no longer the automatic starter he had been during Madrid's Champions League dynasty, with Ferland Mendy increasingly taking his place.
Nevertheless, his technical quality and experience remained valuable.
Raphaël Varane — Centre-back
Varane had another excellent season alongside Ramos.
His speed, positioning and recovery ability complemented Ramos perfectly and helped Madrid establish the league's best defence.
Dani Carvajal — Right-back
Carvajal remained Zidane's first-choice right-back.
His energy, defensive work and attacking overlaps made him an important part of the team's balance.
Vinícius Júnior — Winger
Vinícius continued his development into one of Madrid's most exciting young attackers.
His acceleration and ability to beat defenders gave Madrid a different attacking dimension, particularly against deep defensive blocks.

These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear. Each listing carries a condition grade out of ten and any notable fault is called out in the description. Sizing on older shirts differs from modern sizing — always go by the pit-to-pit and length measurements listed, not the size on the label.
