History
2017/18 season
The 2017/18 season was one of the most memorable in PSG's history domestically, although the club again fell short in the Champions League.
Manager: Unai Emery
PSG finished 1st in Ligue 1, collecting 93 points and scoring an extraordinary 108 goals. They finished 13 points ahead of Monaco.
They also won both major domestic cups:
Coupe de France — beat Les Herbiers 2–0 in the final
Coupe de la Ligue — beat Monaco 3–0 in the final
Trophée des Champions — beat Monaco 2–1
So PSG completed a domestic quadruple during the 2017/18 campaign. PSG's official honours record confirms the club's 2018 Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue and Trophée des Champions titles.
Key players
Neymar
The headline arrival of the season. PSG signed Neymar from Barcelona in August 2017 for a world-record transfer fee. He scored 28 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions, despite missing the end of the season with a foot injury.
Edinson Cavani
The Uruguayan striker was PSG's leading goalscorer, scoring 40 goals in 48 appearances. He became the club's all-time leading scorer during the season.
Kylian Mbappé
The teenage forward joined initially on loan from Monaco, with PSG's permanent purchase subsequently taking effect. He scored 21 Ligue 1 goals and established himself as one of European football's major young stars.
Marco Verratti
The Italian midfielder remained the central creative and possession player in PSG's midfield. He had already been at the club since 2012 and was an important part of the side throughout the season.
Thiago Silva
The experienced Brazilian centre-back and captain was the defensive leader.
Dani Alves
Signed from Juventus in summer 2017, Alves brought considerable experience and attacking quality to the right side.
Ángel Di María
The Argentine winger remained an important attacking player, particularly when Neymar was unavailable. PSG records note his substantial contribution since joining the club in 2015.
Marquinhos
The Brazilian defender was another key member of the back line. He had joined PSG in 2013 and was already an established first-team player by 2017/18.
Presnel Kimpembe
The academy-developed French centre-back continued his emergence into the senior team. PSG specifically records the 2017/18 season as one in which he established himself, before going on to become a World Cup winner with France in 2018.
