History
Real Madrid's 2012/13 campaign under José Mourinho began with silverware, as they defeated Barcelona to win the Spanish Super Cup. They finished second in La Liga with 85 points and reached the Copa del Rey final, losing to city rivals Atlético Madrid after extra time. In Europe, Madrid reached their third consecutive Champions League semi-final but were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund.
Despite falling short in the league and Champions League, the season featured memorable performances and another prolific campaign from Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 55 goals in all competitions.
