History
Newcastle United finished 13th in the Premier League in 2019/20, with Steve Bruce taking charge following Rafael Benítez’s departure. The Magpies recorded 11 league wins and reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where they lost 2–0 to Manchester City. The season was also notable for the club’s return to the traditional black-and-white home colours in a Puma design that paid tribute to the 50th anniversary of Newcastle’s 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup triumph.

Newcastle’s 2019/20 home shirt by Puma features the club’s iconic black-and-white stripes, a black round-neck collar with white trim and a tonal Newcastle United crest. The FUN88 sponsor sits prominently across the front. The design was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the club’s 1969 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup victory, when Newcastle defeated Újpest Dózsa 6–2 on aggregate in the final.
