History

Liverpool’s 2013/14 season was one of the most dramatic campaigns in the club’s modern history. Managed by Brendan Rodgers, the Reds mounted an extraordinary challenge for the Premier League title, finishing second with 84 points after winning 26 of their 38 league matches. Their fast, attacking football produced 101 league goals and an unforgettable run of 11 consecutive victories.

With Luis Suárez and Daniel Sturridge forming a prolific attacking partnership, Liverpool moved to the top of the table late in the season. Steven Gerrard captained the side through a campaign that brought the club agonisingly close to its first Premier League title. Defeats to Chelsea and a draw against Crystal Palace ultimately allowed Manchester City to finish two points ahead. Despite the disappointment, Liverpool qualified for the Champions League and rekindled the belief that the club could compete at the very highest level.

Key players

Steven Gerrard – Liverpool’s captain and inspirational leader, Gerrard contributed 13 league goals and 13 assists from midfield. His performances and leadership were central to the title challenge, making this shirt especially meaningful to supporters of the club legend.

Luis Suárez – The Uruguayan striker enjoyed a remarkable season, scoring 31 Premier League goals and winning both the Golden Boot and the Premier League Player of the Season award.

Daniel Sturridge – Sturridge scored 21 Premier League goals, forming a devastating partnership with Suárez and providing pace, movement and clinical finishing.

Jordan Henderson – The energetic midfielder played a vital role in Liverpool’s pressing game, supplying work rate, creativity and important contributions from the centre of the pitch.

Raheem Sterling – The young English attacker emerged as a major talent, using his pace and direct running to trouble opposition defences throughout the campaign.

The Shirt

This Liverpool home shirt from the 2013/14 season was manufactured by Warrior and is closely associated with one of the club’s most memorable modern title challenges. The traditional all-red design features white trim and was inspired by Liverpool’s iconic 1983/84 kit, a shirt worn during the club’s European Cup triumph in Rome.

Warrior introduced a modern performance design, using its War-Tech fabric technology to provide breathability and moisture management. The shirt combines Liverpool’s unmistakable red identity with distinctive white detailing, creating a design that links the club’s historic successes with a new era under Brendan Rodgers.

The 2013/14 campaign gave this shirt particular significance. Liverpool’s exhilarating attacking football, Suárez’s extraordinary goalscoring form and Gerrard’s leadership brought the club within touching distance of the Premier League trophy. The season remains etched in the memories of supporters for its thrilling victories, emotional title race and the sense that Liverpool had returned to the forefront of English football.

This example features Steven Gerrard, making it especially appealing to collectors of Liverpool memorabilia. Gerrard’s 13 goals and 13 assists during the league campaign underline his influence, while his status as club captain adds lasting significance to the shirt. It is rated 8.5/10, with flocking on the sponsor logo and cracking to the name and number. These details are reflected in the condition rating.

How we verify authenticity

Every shirt is inspected by hand before it is listed. We check construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code against period-correct examples. Only shirts that pass are photographed, graded and added to the Vault. If a shirt is not an authentic original, we do not sell it.

Condition and sizing

These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear. Each listing carries a condition grade out of ten and any notable fault is called out in the description. Sizing on older shirts differs from modern sizing — always go by the pit-to-pit and length measurements listed, not the size on the label.

Why this shirt costs what it costs

Original, not a reproduction

A reproduction and an original can look identical in a listing photo. Drag the slider to see the difference, and what we checked on this exact shirt before it was listed.

  1. Embroidered crest with real stitch texture, never a flat print
  2. Period-correct fabric weave, weight and cut for the season
  3. Woven sponsor lettering applied the way that era did it
  4. Original neck and wash labels, matched to the year

Before you buy

Will it fit me?

Go by the flat measurements in the description, not the size on the label. Sizing on older shirts is nothing like modern sizing. Lay a shirt you already own flat, measure pit to pit and length, and compare. Not sure? Send us the listing and we will tell you honestly.

What condition is it in?

This shirt is vintage, aged and normally used, so it will show some degree of wear. The condition grade out of ten and any notable fault are stated in the description above. Nothing is hidden in the photographs.

What makes it an original?

Every shirt is an authentic original from its season, found and checked by hand before it is listed. Stock is limited and often a single piece, so when one sells it is usually gone for good.

How do I know it is authentic?

Every shirt is inspected by hand before listing: construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code, all against period-correct examples. If a shirt is not an authentic original, we do not sell it.

When will it arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 2 working days from Spain, fully tracked and insured at our expense. EU standard tracked is €15.99 up to 2 kg with estimated delivery in 3–5 days. Australia, Japan and Singapore are €19.95 for one shirt, €24.95 for two and €29.95 for three or four, with estimated delivery in 6–8 working days.

What if it is not right?

You have 7 days from delivery to request a return. Send it back unworn and in the same condition, with tags intact, and we refund the full purchase price. We do not accept refunds or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect sizing, so please review your purchase carefully before ordering. If it arrives damaged or not as described, we cover the return postage too.

Every shirt in the Matchday Vault is an authentic original — sourced, inspected and graded by hand, and photographed in detail before it is listed. No replicas. No modern reproductions. Ever.
