History
Liverpool entered the 2022/23 season under Jürgen Klopp after winning both domestic cups and reaching the Champions League final the previous campaign. The Reds won the FA Community Shield with a 3–1 victory over Manchester City, but a challenging league season saw them finish fifth in the Premier League with 67 points. They also reached the last 16 of the Champions League, where they were eliminated by Real Madrid.
Key Players
Mohamed Salah remained Liverpool’s leading attacking threat, scoring 30 goals in all competitions. Captain Jordan Henderson provided leadership in midfield, while Virgil van Dijk anchored the defence, Trent Alexander-Arnold contributed from right-back and Alisson Becker delivered important performances in goal.
The Shirt
Liverpool’s 2022/23 home shirt was manufactured by Nike and featured the club’s unmistakable all-red design. Its clean, understated appearance used white detailing for the Nike Swoosh, club crest and sponsor branding. The sleeve cuffs incorporated a subtle YNWA pattern, celebrating the bond between Liverpool and its supporters.
A particularly meaningful detail appears at the back of the collar: the number 97 surrounded by the Eternal Flames, commemorating the 97 people who lost their lives as a result of the Hillsborough disaster. The design also reflected the theme of Scouse solidarity, connecting the shirt to Liverpool’s identity and community.
