History

The 2018/19 season was another highly successful campaign for FC Porto under manager Sérgio Conceição. Having won the Primeira Liga title the previous season, Porto once again challenged strongly for domestic honours while also making an impressive run in the UEFA Champions League.

Porto finished 2nd in the Primeira Liga with 85 points, recording 27 wins, 4 draws and just 3 defeats. They scored 74 goals and conceded only 20, finishing just two points behind champions Benfica.

In Europe, Porto topped their Champions League group ahead of Schalke 04, Galatasaray and Lokomotiv Moscow. They defeated Roma in the Round of 16 before meeting Liverpool in the quarter-finals. Porto were eliminated after Liverpool won 6-1 on aggregate, with Liverpool eventually going on to win the Champions League.

Domestically, Porto also won the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira at the start of the campaign. They reached the Taça de Portugal final and the Taça da Liga semi-finals, making 2018/19 another season in which Porto competed for honours on several fronts.

Key Players

Iker Casillas
The legendary Spanish goalkeeper was an important leader and one of the most experienced members of the squad. Casillas made 41 appearances across all competitions during the season.

Héctor Herrera
The Mexican midfielder and Porto captain was a key figure in the centre of the team. Herrera made 42 appearances across all competitions and provided leadership, energy and goals from midfield.

Alex Telles
The Brazilian left-back was one of Porto's most consistent performers, making 43 appearances across all competitions. His attacking contribution from full-back made him a particularly important part of the team's style of play.

Moussa Marega
The powerful Malian forward was one of Porto's leading attacking threats, making 38 appearances and scoring 21 goals across all competitions during the campaign.

Tiquinho Soares
The Brazilian striker was Porto's leading Primeira Liga goalscorer with 15 league goals, playing a major role in the club's second-place finish.

Éder Militão
The Brazilian defender enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough season, making 38 appearances and becoming an important member of Porto's defence before earning a move to Real Madrid.

2018/19 Home Shirt

The FC Porto 2018/19 home shirt was produced by New Balance as part of the club's 125th anniversary season. The traditional design features a white base with two bold blue vertical stripes running down the front, reflecting FC Porto's iconic blue and white colours.

The shirt features a distinctive navy button-style collar with contrasting detailing, New Balance branding on the chest and the FC Porto crest. The Altice sponsor logo appears across the front, while the shirt also incorporates bonded shoulder detailing and raglan-style sleeves.

The design was launched as part of the club's “Born For Success” campaign, celebrating FC Porto's 125th anniversary and the Primeira Liga title won in 2017/18.

Season Synopsis: FC Porto finished 2nd in the Primeira Liga with 85 points, scoring 74 goals and conceding just 20. Tiquinho Soares was the club's leading league scorer with 15 goals, while Moussa Marega scored 21 goals across all competitions. Porto also reached the Champions League quarter-finals and won the Supertaça.

How we verify authenticity

Every shirt is inspected by hand before it is listed. We check construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code against period-correct examples. Only shirts that pass are photographed, graded and added to the Vault. If a shirt is not an authentic original, we do not sell it.

Condition and sizing

These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear. Each listing carries a condition grade out of ten and any notable fault is called out in the description. Sizing on older shirts differs from modern sizing — always go by the pit-to-pit and length measurements listed, not the size on the label.

Why this shirt costs what it costs

Original, not a reproduction

A reproduction and an original can look identical in a listing photo. Drag the slider to see the difference, and what we checked on this exact shirt before it was listed.

  1. Embroidered crest with real stitch texture, never a flat print
  2. Period-correct fabric weave, weight and cut for the season
  3. Woven sponsor lettering applied the way that era did it
  4. Original neck and wash labels, matched to the year
  5. Manufacturer product code checked against the genuine one

Before you buy

Will it fit me?

Go by the flat measurements in the description, not the size on the label. Sizing on older shirts is nothing like modern sizing. Lay a shirt you already own flat, measure pit to pit and length, and compare. Not sure? Send us the listing and we will tell you honestly.

What condition is it in?

This shirt is vintage, aged and normally used, so it will show some degree of wear. The condition grade out of ten and any notable fault are stated in the description above. Nothing is hidden in the photographs.

What makes it an original?

Every shirt is an authentic original from its season, found and checked by hand before it is listed. Stock is limited and often a single piece, so when one sells it is usually gone for good.

How do I know it is authentic?

Every shirt is inspected by hand before listing: construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code, all against period-correct examples. If a shirt is not an authentic original, we do not sell it.

When will it arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 2 working days from Spain, fully tracked and insured at our expense. EU standard tracked is €15.99 up to 2 kg with estimated delivery in 3–5 days. Australia, Japan and Singapore are €19.95 for one shirt, €24.95 for two and €29.95 for three or four, with estimated delivery in 6–8 working days.

What if it is not right?

You have 7 days from delivery to request a return. Send it back unworn and in the same condition, with tags intact, and we refund the full purchase price. We do not accept refunds or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect sizing, so please review your purchase carefully before ordering. If it arrives damaged or not as described, we cover the return postage too.

Every shirt in the Matchday Vault is an authentic original — sourced, inspected and graded by hand, and photographed in detail before it is listed. No replicas. No modern reproductions. Ever.
