The 2016 campaign was a landmark period in Welsh football as Wales qualified for their first major international tournament since the 1958 FIFA World Cup. Managed by Chris Coleman, Wales entered UEFA EURO 2016 in France with a talented squad led by Gareth Bale and captain Ashley Williams.
Wales made an outstanding start to the tournament, defeating Slovakia 2-1 in their opening match with Gareth Bale scoring from a free-kick and Hal Robson-Kanu scoring the late winner. They then lost narrowly to England before producing an impressive 3-0 victory over Russia to finish top of Group B.
In the Round of 16, Wales defeated Northern Ireland 1-0 through an own goal from Gareth McAuley. They then produced one of the most famous victories in Welsh football history, defeating Belgium 3-1 in the quarter-final. Ashley Williams, Hal Robson-Kanu and Sam Vokes scored as Wales reached the semi-finals.
Wales eventually lost 2-0 to eventual champions Portugal in the semi-final, but their run to the last four represented the greatest achievement in the history of Welsh football at a European Championship.
Gareth Bale
Wales' talisman and leading attacking player. Bale scored three goals during the group stage and was one of the outstanding performers of the tournament.
Aaron Ramsey
A key creative force in midfield, Ramsey was instrumental throughout Wales' run and was named in the official UEFA EURO 2016 Team of the Tournament.
Ashley Williams
The Wales captain and defensive leader. Williams scored the equaliser against Belgium in the quarter-final as Wales completed a memorable 3-1 comeback.
Hal Robson-Kanu
A cult hero of the tournament, Robson-Kanu scored the decisive winner against Slovakia and produced the famous Cruyff-inspired turn before scoring against Belgium.
Joe Allen
A hugely influential midfielder whose energy and defensive work were central to Wales' successful campaign. Allen was also named in the official UEFA EURO 2016 Team of the Tournament.
Sam Vokes
The Burnley striker scored the third goal in Wales' famous 3-1 quarter-final victory over Belgium.
The Wales 2016 home shirt was produced by Adidas for the country's historic UEFA EURO 2016 campaign. The shirt combines the traditional Welsh red with white detailing and features Adidas' distinctive three stripes on the sleeves.
The design also incorporates a subtle drop-needle thread effect across the fabric, giving the shirt a classic and understated appearance. It became closely associated with Wales' remarkable run to the semi-finals in France.
The shirt was particularly significant as Wales finally ended a 58-year wait to qualify for a major international tournament, with the team going on to reach the semi-finals of EURO 2016.

Every shirt is inspected by hand before it is listed. We check construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code against period-correct examples. Only shirts that pass are photographed, graded and added to the Vault. If a shirt is not an authentic original, we do not sell it.
These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear. Each listing carries a condition grade out of ten and any notable fault is called out in the description. Sizing on older shirts differs from modern sizing — always go by the pit-to-pit and length measurements listed, not the size on the label.
Why this shirt costs what it costs
A reproduction and an original can look identical in a listing photo. Drag the slider to see the difference, and what we checked on this exact shirt before it was listed.
Three steps, every single time. No shortcuts, no exceptions.
Step one
We track down originals across Europe: private collectors, club sales, and the people who were actually there.
Step two
Construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor application and product code, all checked by hand against period-correct examples.
Step three
Photographed in detail, graded out of ten with full measurements, then shipped worldwide tracked and insured from Spain, with reduced rates on more than one shirt.
Go by the flat measurements in the description, not the size on the label. Sizing on older shirts is nothing like modern sizing. Lay a shirt you already own flat, measure pit to pit and length, and compare. Not sure? Send us the listing and we will tell you honestly.

Every shirt is an authentic original from its season, found and checked by hand before it is listed. Stock is limited and often a single piece, so when one sells it is usually gone for good.
