History
Viborg FF is one of Denmark’s historic football clubs, founded in 1896 and based in the city of Viborg. Known for its distinctive green colours and clover emblem, the club has built a strong identity within Danish football. Its history includes memorable domestic campaigns and a passionate local following.
One of the most celebrated figures in the club’s history is Finn Døssing. Born in Viborg in 1941, he made his first-team debut at just 17 and became renowned for his goalscoring ability. He played a key role in Viborg’s 1961 Jutland Cup final triumph, scoring five goals in a remarkable 7–2 victory over AGF. Døssing later continued his career with Dundee United in Scotland, where he also became a club legend. He passed away on 25 June 2022, leaving behind a lasting legacy at both clubs.

Finn Døssing – The legendary former Viborg FF striker is the focus of this commemorative shirt. Renowned for his prolific goalscoring, Døssing made his debut for Viborg at 17 and became one of the defining players in the club’s history. His five-goal performance in the 1961 Jutland Cup final remains a standout achievement. He later became a celebrated figure at Dundee United, further cementing his place in football history.
The Shirt
This special-edition Viborg FF Legend Shirt was created to honour Finn Døssing and celebrate the club’s 128th birthday in 2024. Manufactured by Capelli Sport, the shirt was worn by Viborg’s first team for just one match, the Danish Superliga fixture against Hvidovre IF on 31 March 2024. It is a rare tribute to one of the greatest players ever to represent the club.
The shirt features a classic green design with a white V-neck collar, white shoulder detailing and the distinctive embroidered clover emblem on the chest. Beneath the clover are the dates 1941–2022, marking the years of Finn Døssing’s life and making the commemorative purpose of the design unmistakable.
Viborg announced that only 400 Legend Shirts would be produced, with no further editions planned. The match shirts worn by the players were subsequently put up for auction, adding another layer of collectibility to this special release.
The official commemorative version featured Døssing and the number 9 on the back, directly connecting the shirt to the legendary striker. This example has a clean back, but retains the distinctive front design and embroidered tribute. Its one-match association, limited production and connection to a much-loved club legend make it a particularly interesting piece for collectors of Danish football shirts and special-edition memorabilia.

You have 7 days from delivery to request a return. The shirt must come back unworn and in the same condition it was sent, with all tags intact. Return postage is paid by the buyer. Once the shirt is received and checked, we refund the full purchase price. We do not accept refunds or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect sizing. We check construction, neck and wash labels, stitching, sponsor and badge application, and the manufacturer product code against period-correct examples. These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear.
