History
Sweden qualified for UEFA Euro 2016 after defeating Denmark 4–3 on aggregate in the play-offs. Managed by Erik Hamrén, the team entered the tournament with captain Zlatan Ibrahimović leading the attack. Sweden drew 1–1 with the Republic of Ireland before losing 1–0 to Italy and 1–0 to Belgium. They finished bottom of Group E and exited at the group stage. The tournament marked the international farewells of Ibrahimović, Kim Källström and goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson.
Key Players
Zlatan Ibrahimović captained Sweden and remained their main attacking threat, finishing his international career with a national-record 62 goals. Marcus Berg partnered him up front, while Emil Forsberg offered creativity and direct running from midfield.
