History
The 2023/24 season was Jürgen Klopp's final season as Liverpool manager, bringing his highly successful nine-year spell at Anfield to an end.
Liverpool had finished 5th in the Premier League in 2022/23, so they entered the 2023/24 campaign in the Europa League rather than the Champions League.
The season ultimately produced:
Premier League: 3rd — 82 points, with 24 wins, 10 draws and 4 defeats.
Carabao Cup: Winners — Liverpool beat Chelsea 1–0 after extra time at Wembley, with Virgil van Dijk scoring the winner in the 118th minute. It was Liverpool's 10th League Cup, extending their record in the competition.
Europa League: Quarter-finals — Liverpool were eliminated by Atalanta, losing 3–0 at Anfield before winning 1–0 in Bergamo.
FA Cup: Quarter-finals — Manchester United beat Liverpool 4–3 after extra time at Old Trafford.
It was also the beginning of a midfield rebuild, with Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo arriving during the summer of 2023.
Key players
Mohamed Salah — Liverpool's leading Premier League scorer with 18 goals. He remained the team's main attacking threat.
Virgil van Dijk — Captain and defensive leader. His extra-time header won the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
Luis Díaz — A major attacking outlet on the left. He made 37 appearances, the most of any Liverpool player according to the Premier League's season statistics.
Darwin Núñez — An important source of goals and assists, particularly during the first half of the campaign.
Trent Alexander-Arnold — Played an increasingly influential hybrid full-back/midfield role under Klopp.
Alexis Mac Allister — Quickly became an important part of the new midfield and produced several key performances.
Dominik Szoboszlai — One of the major summer signings and an important part of the midfield rebuild.
Diogo Jota — Provided goals and versatility across the forward line.
Cody Gakpo — Used both centrally and in wider attacking positions.
The 2023/24 away shirt
Liverpool's away shirt was made by Nike and was a deliberate modern interpretation of the famous 1995/96 green-and-white away kit. Liverpool officially described it as a modern take on that 1995/96 design.
A particularly important detail for collectors is the 97 emblem surrounded by the Eternal Flames inside the back of the neck, commemorating the 97 people who died as a result of the Hillsborough disaster.

You have 7 days from delivery to request a return. The shirt must come back unworn and in the same condition it was sent, with all tags intact. Return postage is paid by the buyer. Once the shirt is received and checked, we refund the full purchase price. We do not accept refunds or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect sizing. These shirts are vintage, aged and normally used, so they will almost always show some degree of wear.
