History
Italy's 2022 campaign marked a transitional period for the national team following the disappointment of failing to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Under manager Roberto Mancini, the Azzurri were looking to rebuild their reputation after missing out on a second consecutive World Cup.
Despite that disappointment, Italy enjoyed a strong UEFA Nations League campaign, finishing top of their group ahead of Germany, England and Hungary to qualify for the finals in 2023. A memorable 2–0 victory over Hungary in September secured their place at the top of the group, with goals from Giacomo Raspadori and Federico Dimarco.
The year also saw the end of an era for legendary defender Giorgio Chiellini, who retired from international football in June after a distinguished career with the Azzurri. Italy continued to develop a new generation of talent while relying on experienced players who had helped deliver the European Championship in 2021.
Key players
Gianluigi Donnarumma – The outstanding goalkeeper was a central figure for Italy, bringing exceptional reflexes, composure and leadership between the posts following his performances at EURO 2020.

The Shirt
Italy's 2022 away shirt was manufactured by Puma and introduced in August 2022. The predominantly white design offered a striking alternative to the traditional blue home shirt, combining modern graphics with details inspired by the Italian national flag.
The front features a distinctive graphic framing the national team crest, with red and green accents representing the Tricolore. Blue Puma branding, a blue collar and gold detailing complete the design, with the gold elements paying tribute to Italy's celebrated footballing heritage.
The shirt was part of Puma's final collection with the Italian national team before Adidas took over as kit manufacturer in 2023. This gives the 2022 collection particular significance for collectors, marking the end of a long-standing partnership between Puma and the Azzurri.

You have 7 days from delivery to request a return. The shirt must come back unworn and in the same condition it was sent, with all tags intact. Return postage is paid by the buyer. Once the shirt is received and checked, we refund the full purchase price. We do not accept refunds or exchanges for change of mind or incorrect sizing.
