History
Germany entered the delayed UEFA Euro 2020 tournament under manager Joachim Löw, in his final major tournament with the national team. Drawn in a difficult Group F alongside France, Portugal and Hungary, Germany secured an impressive 4–2 victory over Portugal before reaching the knockout stages. Their campaign ended in the Round of 16 with a 2–0 defeat to England at Wembley. It marked the end of an era for a team that had won the World Cup in 2014.
