Under Julen Lopetegui, followed by Rui Barros and José Peseiro, Porto finished third in the Primeira Liga with 73 points. They reached the Taça de Portugal final but lost to Braga on penalties after a 2–2 draw. In Europe, Porto finished third in their UEFA Champions League group and dropped into the Europa League, where they were eliminated by Borussia Dortmund in the round of 32. Although the team ended the season without a trophy, it was a notable campaign in the club’s modern kit history.

Key Players

Vincent Aboubakar – Porto’s leading league goalscorer, finishing the campaign with 13 league goals.
Iker Casillas – The legendary Spanish goalkeeper brought experience and a distinguished career to the team.
Yacine Brahimi – The Algerian winger provided dribbling ability and creativity in attack.
Danilo Pereira – The powerful defensive midfielder was important in protecting the defence and winning possession.

The Shirt

This distinctive FC Porto away shirt was part of New Balance’s first collection for the club. Its unusual cocoa-brown base is complemented by subtle horizontal stripes and striking light-blue detailing across the upper chest and sleeve cuffs. The Porto crest and New Balance logo sit within the contrasting chest panel, while mesh side panels provide ventilation. New Balance’s NB Dry fabric technology was designed to help manage moisture during activity. The bold brown colour was a departure from Porto’s more familiar blue-and-white identity, making this an especially recognisable design from the 2015/16 season.

The Official Shirt
