Managed by Jupp Heynckes and captained by Philipp Lahm, Bayern finished second in the Bundesliga, eight points behind Borussia Dortmund. They also reached the DFB-Pokal final but lost 5–2 to Dortmund. In Europe, Bayern defeated Real Madrid on penalties in the semi-finals to reach the Champions League final at their own Allianz Arena. After a 1–1 draw with Chelsea, Bayern lost the final on penalties, missing the chance to lift the trophy on home soil. The design features subtle vertical pinstripes inspired by the Münchner Kindl, the figure associated with Munich’s coat of arms. Gold Adidas shoulder stripes, gold branding and trim, and the Bayern crest with its championship stars give the shirt a distinctive finish. The front carries the T-Mobile sponsor, while the original design also featured “Bayern München” lettering on the back. Details around the collar include the club motto “Mia san mia” and the nickname “Rekordmeister”. Made for the campaign that saw Bayern reach the Champions League final at their own stadium, this red-and-gold shirt is associated with one of the club’s most dramatic modern European seasons.

The Official Shirt
